Almost there......

I have just a bit more packing and then of course ..... cleaning . I need to come home to a neat and tidy house with clean sheets. In all the chaos, I forgot to scan the artwork I just finished. If your in the Frederick area it is at the " Muse" .

Pendants and new art..... oh my!

Thought I would give this pendant thing a try. It was fairly easy and quick. I really like how they turned out. These are headed out to a shop , however I will have more for my etsy store after my vacation.

This is a huge canvas I just finished. It is headed off to my brothers office.

Well I am leaving for a much needed vacation this Saturday and I will not be home for 2 entire weeks!!!!! I will give you one last post after this and then I will have to update you when I return.

A few movie reviews......

My husband and I watched " Miss Potter" with Renee Zelwiger last night. Although it was slow ( we did not start it until 10:30) I thought it to be quite charming. It is about the life of Beatrix Potter and how she came up with all her little tales.

I turned to the Hallmark station , as I do every Sunday morning , to watch Little house on the Prairie reruns as I sip my coffee. Today I woke up much later than usual , and found the series by author Janette Oke...... I think it was called the Love Saga. I know the name is cheesy, and the story a bit predictable and corny...... however I just loved it. They had a marathon all day. I watched a bit in and out ..... while I did the dishes, cooked , cleaned, etc. ( I spend alot of time in my kitchen I am finding). It reminds me of " Sarah plain and tall" or the " Anne of Green Gables " series. I found it to be quite refreshing and wished that perhaps I had a little house in the prairie myself!

Oh those little boys........

Thought I would write a quick post..... no pictures . It is rainy here so I might get some art work finished later .

I have 2 boys that I adore ....... they play hard and on clear days they are outside until I have to drag them in! Yesterday I heard the basement door open. They had come in from playing outside with the neighborhood pack of friends ( all boys). I had gone to the stairs to check on them making sure they were o.k. and to see what they were getting into. There it was.... the smell. If you have boys you know what I am talking about. It is the sweet smell of " Dirty boy" . If they are in a pack it becomes overwhelming. My nose was telling me that there were more than just my two.... I prepared myself .... I took a deep breath .... and down I went. There they were , just 4 , however the room was in a huge bubble of that smell that follows little boys knee high into summer. How do I describe this....... it is like the wind only after it was dragged through a swamp. Although you would not make a perfume out of the stuff, I do treasure it. It is the sent of their age and at this rate...... it will be gone only too soon.

phewwww its over!

Here are some examples of my summer camp kid's work. They all did a great job. They have decided that they all hate glue! We worked with soooo much glue ( after all it was a COLLAGE class !) . You will always have one child that refuses to do anything you ask and is finished in a second...... all and all the class went well. I am just exhausted!!!

For the most part I did no creative work of my own this week..... and I really miss it. I have a bunch of ideas swimming around , and I am recharged and ready to work. I am sure to have some new things soon to show you.

I am so in need of a cup of coffee.....

I think I should just start injecting it directly. I have been teaching my summer camp at the local community college. I wanted the morning class, so the kids ( and myself ) would be full of energy. However, I have the afternoon class....... and everyone is tired. I usually have a little coffee break myself around 3:00..... since my class I have to wait until 5:30 and my head is throbbing. Do you think I have a little caffeine addiction???


Anyway, the class is going well...... after this week I am mentally available for my creative life.
